In a small sauce pan whisk the cocoa and sugar. On medium heat add 1/4 cup milk and whisk until combined.
Add the remaining milk and whisk for 4-5 minutes or until the mixture is hot. Pour into a mug, top with whipped cream and enjoy!
Notes
To make the hot chocolate incredibly smooth you can sift the sugar and cocoa together. I've made this recipe using all dark cocoa and using only half dark and it is delicious both ways. Variations: 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon mixed in with the cocoa powder or 1/4 teaspoon vanilla mixed in once it is hot.
